Yesterday, our school announced we would be off from all clinical duties until May… I was excited, FINALLY! but then. fuck. Until MAY?! WTF are we going to do with the rest of our third year? Third year in medical school is when we LEARN ACTUAL MEDICINE for our future, and I was on internal medicine, which is the bulk of actual medicine! and I was ENJOYING it!!! GAH. We got an email today regarding COVID, mostly that nothing has been decided and they recommend we take this time to study for step 2 🙁 I hate studying, gah! I get so bored. I totally understand why restaurants and coffeeshops are closed, but it sucks bc that’s where I usually study. I tend to get so tired and bored when there’s a lack of stimulation, and then I just sleep.
I had planned a whole packed day: Wake up early, do some studying, exercise and jog, make some art, write a blog post (woo!), study some more, eat some food.
What I ended up doing:
7am: woke up
8am: went for jog, saw pretty flowers and heard birds tweeting (wow, weird to use that word for non-twitter context now)
9am: super hungry, ate food. ate more food. looked for more food in our house.
11am: did home exercise for 30min, broke into sweat!
12pm: got super hungry, complained to mom about not having enough food, then dilly dallied around
2pm: tried to study, but actually just napped for 3 hours
5pm: woke up starving, repeat 12pm hunger rampage
6pm: ordered food from Costco online; also researched into Whole Foods and Target delivery systems. Considered getting Amazon Prime
7pm: took walk outside
8pm: wow, did nothing that I wanted to do today. Thought about creating art but really like the good sunlight for that… Will just hold off until tomorrow
9pm: decided I will watch Westworld and write blog post, and call it a day.
See y’all tomorrow! I know, so exciting.
